A Portrait of the American West

LeTisha Bonar has long been recognized for her intimate portrayal of the American West in its many forms. From the grandeur of the american cowboy to the patchwork of farms that dot the countryside, LeTisha's work embodies the diverse and complex history, cultures and landscapes of the West. 

 

Raised on a working cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, her interpretation of the West was framed from the deep seat of an oversized saddle.

 

​As she trailed behind the herd with a lax reign and a drifting gaze, she became intimately familiar with the subtleties of light and color as the dust serenaded the clouds and waltzed along the edge of the flatirons.

 

Like a leaf tugging at the last rays of light, her artist’s eye was bewitched with each stroke of nature’s brush and she became a life-long student of the flora, fauna, people and culture of the American West.​​​
